On Saturday, February 16th the Mother of God left the cathedral in Alcalá de Benares and went to the convent of St. Clara Sisters, which was the main headquarters of the Icon during the visit in this diocese.
At 10.30AM the Icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa arrived at the prison for women “Madrid 1”, known as Alcala-Meco. After the entrance control the caretakers of the Icon carried Her to the prison chapel. At 11AM the Holy Mass was celebrated. Over 200 female inmates attended. It was obvious they were moved and prayed with emotion and piety. They were grateful for the visit of the Czestochowa Icon. After the prayers finished they carried Her themselves to the Life mobile. They were carrying Her along the prison carridors. It was a true procession, only the “inside” one, in the prison, for those who are not allowed to go outside.
